The difference between NEET & NEAT


NEAT

MHRD has announced a National Educational Alliance for Technology (NEAT) as a Public-Private partnership model between the Government (through its implementing agency AICTE) and the Education Technology companies of India. Through an open invitation and screening, companies are invited to showcase their products on a National Portal developed for the learners, who may procure them based on their requirements.
The aim of NEAT is to bring the best technological Products in education pedagogy on a single platform for the convenience of learners. Technology Products using Artificial Intelligence for customized learning or e-content in niche areas having highly employable skills would be identified for showcasing on the portal.
The scheme also includes free seats for existing students of higher education from Weaker sections of society. The distribution of free seats would be done through the NEAT portal, based on student information shared by Educational Institutions. During the first phase, the portal would be launched as a pilot phase in AICTE approved Government Colleges of India only.

NEET (UG) - 2020

The Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD), Government of India (GOI) has established National Testing Agency (NTA) as an independent autonomous and self-sustained premier testing organisation for conducting efficient, transparent and international standard test in order to access the competency of candidates for admission to premier higher education institutions.
NATIONAL ELIGIBILITY CUM ENTRANCE TEST (UG) 2020 (NEET (UG) - 2020) will be conducted by National Testing Agency (NTA) for admission to MBBS/BDS Courses and other undergraduate medical courses in approved/recognized Medical/Dental & other Colleges/ Institutes in India.
Section 14 of the National Medical Commission Act, 2019 provides for holding of a common and uniform National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test (NEET) for admission to the undergraduate medical courses in all medical institutions including those governed under any other law. Thus, the admission to MBBS course in AIIMS, New Delhi, JIPMER and all AIIMS like Institutions will be made through NEET. The eligibility criteria applicable to appear in NEET (UG) shall also be applicable to the candidates desirous to take admission to INIs like AIIMS.
Similarly, the criteria for minimum qualifying marks to be eligible for admission to MBBS course shall also be applicable to INIs. Further, the common counseling for admission to MBBS course in these INIs shall be conducted by the DGHS as per the Time Schedule specified in the MCI’s regulations.
The NEET (UG) - 2020 will be conducted on Sunday, the 03 May, 2020 . The responsibility of the NTA is limited to the conduct of the entrance examination, declaration of result and for providing an “All India Rank Merit List” to the Directorate General Health Service, Government of India for the conduct of counselling for 15% All India Quota Seats and for providing the result to States/other Counselling Authorities

NEET PG 
NEET-PG is a qualifying cum-ranking examination prescribed as the single entrance examination for admission to various MD/MS and PG Diploma Courses as per Section 10 (D) of Indian Medical Council Act, 1956. 
No other entrance examination, either at state or institution level, shall be valid for entry to MD/MS/PG Diploma Courses. • NEET is mandatory even for foreign nationals seeking admission in medical courses in India
SCOPE OF NEET-PG 2020
NEET-PG 2020 shall be the single qualifying cum ranking examination for admission to Postgraduate MD/MS/Diploma Courses for the academic session 2020 which will include the following:
 i. All India 50% quota seats (all States & UT ’s) 
ii. State quota seats. (including the UT ’s ) 
iii. All Private Medical Colleges, Institutions & Universities/ Deemed Universities all across the country 
iv. Armed Forces Medical Services Institutions. 
v. DNB Post MBBS Courses.
 The following Medical institutions are not covered by centralized admissions for MD/MS seats through NEET- PG for 2020 session: 
i. AIIMS, New Delhi and other AIIMS 
ii. PGIMER, Chandigarh 
iii. JIPMER, Puducherry 
iv. NIMHANS, Bengaluru 
v. Sree Chitra Tirunal Institute for Medical Sciences and Technology, Trivandrum
